I have a crusting buttercream that I love, is there an easy way to make it chocolate? Add cocoa powder or chocolate melts?
Or does anyone have a good recipe that will crust well?

Thanks!

I add 2 squares of unsweetend chocolate and 2T of corn syrup (melted together then added to the BC) for mine and it tastes so yummy and crusts nicely, got the recipe from here. It's called chocolate decorator's BC, what is your BC recipe, maybe that will help to see what you should add?

I have used the chocolate squares, cocoa powder, melted chocolate chips and melted candy melts in my regular buttercream recipe. How much you add depends on the taste you want. Start with a smaller amount then add to it if you need to.

You will probably need to add some extra liquid to the icing since the chocolate will make it drier/stiffer.
