I think that is just a beautiful cake!!! Love the ribbon.
Very well done and I am sure your sister would absolutely love it!
great idea with the ribbon. Wonderful cake.
Ditto!!! very elegant design!
I think someone needs to do a little tutorial on how to make the ribbon!!
Great work (AS ALWAYS!!!)

I second that- tutorial!
It's a beautiful cake, I'm sure she loved it! Are those ribbon roses? They look like it, but a little different...

as usual---another beautiful cake!! Okay, so where is the cake entry(can't remember for what exactly, but you were doing a jack in the box or something for a wedding cake).
I love seeing your artful cakes--always so stunning! I showed my dh and told him we needed to get married again so we could get to have an engagement cake like that--lol
Beautiful cake. Aren't edible images great! I just made a purse cake, and covered it with edible images! No pics yet, can't remember how to get them from the camera to the computer. Janice
That is gorgeous! I, too, love the ribbon! I sure hope you don't mind if I use that idea in the future.
thats so cool. what was the bow made from and did you just apply the transfer?
I used Photoshop to make a "watermark" of Kelly & Jimmy and I printed two frosting sheets with it.
I used fondant for the bow.....I cut the pieces that I needed, cut the frosting sheet to the same size, dampened the fondant and placed the image on it. At this stage it is still pliable...I shaped the bow and let it dry, then painted the edges gold with lustre dust and vodka.
I used the method from Charm City Cakes for the roses. So easy....they're a little fancier than ribbon rose, although not quite as nice as the conventional roses, but they are soooo fast!! On a couple of them, I actually added a few more petals on the outside to make them bigger.
Okay, so where is the cake entry(can't remember for what exactly, but you were doing a jack in the box or something for a wedding cake).
That's this coming weekend in New Jersey. I have two cakes pretty much completed. I was going to enter 3 but I got commissioned for a portrait and I can't say no...and it must be done this week. So, I decided not to go bonkers and stick with the two. I'll post photos after this weekend. One is a miniature...the other certainly fits the category "extreme wedding cake"!
Thanks again guys!
Very nice!!!
Are you speaking of the expo in Atlantic City NJ - I'll look for your cake there!!!! Can't wait!!!

Yep...that's the one... I'm very nervous, to say the least, because I have no idea what to expect. Just look for the Jack-in-the-box cake....
I'll be lurking around the cake, inconspicuosly listening to comments

I'll look for you there - I'm only 5'3'' so everyone looks tall to me!
