Finally going to try to make those cake balls everyone raves about.
But I do not have a good liquer or coffee creamer in the house. (Only Vodka - I don't think that would taste very good! icon_razz.gif

What else can I use?

TIA

I used a tad bit of icing in one batch and marshmallow fluff in the other batch, both worked great and tasted wonderful.

I've used jam, pudding, lime juice.. I've never made cake balls according to the real recipe lol, I just crumble up cake, mix in some kind of liquid to make the crumbs sticky, and go at it..

I think any kind of liquid would work..

I've used milk. I've flavored the milk with lemon or raspberry extracts and they turn out delicious!!! I've even used the milk alone when the cake balls are already flavored enough....i.e. choc cake with mini choc chips.

I have made several batches of these and I use half and half ,jam, milk, even peanut butter. I have found you can use just about anything as long as it will make it hold together. Good Luck.

Thanks for all the quick replies!

I was a little bit afraid to try something outside the realm of the recipe. I love all of your ideas. I just remembered I have a coulpe jars of marachino cherries and I think I'm going to use the juice from them as the liquid. I think it will be great with the chocolate especially. I'll let y'all know how they come out.

You guys all rock! Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Make sure you don't use too much liquid!!! Add it slowly till you get the consistency you want.

Great idea on the cherry juice!! I'll have to try that!

The coffee flavored syrups from Sam's works great, too. My Sam's only has about 10 different flavorings, but they work awesome with the cake balls...cheap, too!!! icon_smile.gif
