Need Help With Sizes For 150, Please.
Decorating By kymscakes Updated 15 Aug 2007 , 1:49am by kymscakes
So to come up with 150 wedding size slices (1x2x4) seems impossible according to the chart I am using. The bride wants rounds. So if I do 12, 10, 8 (not counting the 6") it is way too few, but then if you add on a 14" it is way too much? I know there must be an easy solution but I can't figure it out. Help please.
Thanks,
Kym
Are the bride and groom keeping the top tier to freeze? You don't want to add that in your servings if they are.
Kym,
I would give the bride a few choices if she wants 150 servings: 14-12-10-8-6 would be 160 (excluding the 6); 14-12-10-6 would be 140 (excluding the 6), and you could add a kitchen cake for the difference. Or you could do 14-12-10-6, which would be 150, and give her an additional 6 for her one-year anniversary. Give the bride options and let her make the decisions!
17" + 12" + 7" the servings of the 7" are not calculated in the servings a 17 & 12=150
OR
16" + 12" + 9" + 6" = 157 servings not counting the 6"
OR
18" + 12" +6" =160 servings not counting the 6"
OR
15"+ 12"+ 9"+ 6"=147 not counting the 6"
I use Earlene's chart
wilton shows that the 14-12-10-8-6 serves 180.. (without the 6)
are they set on 4 tiers?
For 150, I will use either 14/12/8/6 (158 not counting the 6) or 16/12/8 (156, not counting the .
I use the Wilton Wedding chart which is 1x2x4.
I love this place....ok, so my chart only has even sizes, 6, 8, 10, etc...but, next question. this cake is to be separated with even pillars and fresh flowers placed between each to fill the space, I was thinking I needed a very uniform size difference between each tier. Would it work if each tier wasn't 2" difference? They are not set on necessarily 4 tiers, she is really leaving it up to me, but I am a little stuck on this one. And I am not calculating the top tier into the servings as they are expecting to freeze it.
Thanks again,
Kym
