Hi all! I finally got my camera back this weekend, so I just posted pics of the mailbox cake I did for my brother's wedding, as well as the Star Wars cake I made for my son's birthday. The mailbox cake was really fun to make! Let me know what you think of them! icon_smile.gif Thanks!

You did a good job on the mailbox cake. I should make one for my uncle's bday, he is a mailman LOL
Did you use a loaf pan?

And an A++++ on the Star Wars cake! Very cool.

Thanks all! I had fun making it!

Kimmie - I baked 2 big sheet cakes (12x1icon_cool.gif and cut them into thirds. I filled and stacked the cake 4 layers high and trimmed the top layer on the sides to make it more rounded. I used another piece for the open lid and rounded the edges on it, too. Then I just covered it with the rolled buttercream (recipe on this site), smoothed with Viva paper towel and added my decos. Pretty easy! And thanks for the nice comment on the Star Wars cake! That one nearly did me in! icon_smile.gif
