I'm making a cake for a co-worker and the cake needs a gel icing on top to look like water. I can't find a recipe for gel icing, does anyone have one please? I have to make the icing by tomorrow. I thought I could use jello and bought some in my haste at the grocery store, but fortunately I came to my senses and realized that the jello would melt and make my cake mushy. Please help. Thanks.

Here's a link to a recipe in the Recipe Forum.

Thanks, I found that after I realized it was called piping gel. The recipe says to use 2 tablespoons of clear gelatine. Do you think I could use 2 tablesppons of flavored jello instead?

Not sure if flavored jello would work or not. The sugar content might affect the consistency. ??
