So I have had the same problem over and over with my cupcake bouquets, they sag and fall over from the weight. Well I was trying to come up with a new way of setting them in their pots and I figured it out!!

The 3 prong floral card holders work GREAT!!! The slip right into the cupcake and hold it securly and look nicer in the arrangement as you can cover them up with the fillagree and stuff.

Just wanted to pass along my cool tip, You can see them in action in my photo's on the pink and purple cupcake flowers.

Hey Debster, it looks like a pitchfork. With the middle tine spaced back a little to make room for the card that accompanies the flowers.

I couldn't ever get toothpicks and scewers to work either. They kept sliding down, maybe this will help that! thumbs_up.gif

Could you get skewers and gumpaste and put gumpaste an inch down so that the cupcake could just sit on the gumpaste? That way it wouldn't slide. Or how about a green jelly candy.

Thanks for the visual, So that whole part gets shoved up into the cupcake? Is it hard to get it through the paper? Thanks again, I'm wanting to try these but have had a fear of them falling.

Another tip for cupcake bouquets - don't use foil cup cake "papers". I did and the cupcakes fell out of the foil!

here is what they looked like before being placed into the pot. I got some fillagree (leaves on wire) to place around the bottom of the cupcakes to make them look more realistic and then oncethey were placed in the pot, I placed fake flowers around them as fill in.

I have a cupcake mold in the shape of different flowers that allows me to make them without papers to get the full flower affect. The cupcakes are about 1 1/2" in thickness and about 3 - 3 1/2" in diameter, so almost the same size and shape as a cookie. icon_lol.gif

I went to the floral department at my local supermarket and bought 100 for $10.00. I'm sure I could get a better deal online, but I didnt pay for shipping.

I found mine earlier this year at a rummage sale, so I dont know if it is a new thing or an old thing. I tried looking it up online (mine didnt have a box and no brand name anywhere on the mold itself) but cant seem to find anything like it. I also have one that makes a butterfly, turtle and car and train (think cupcake puzzle). This nice lady was having a sale and I bought them all for $5.00!

Dessertdive I just ordered some of those picks for a cupcake bouquet i am doing on the 19th of Aug.

BTW I saw the turtle cupcake silicone at Target a while back. They had it on an end cap. I don't know if they still have it, and if they do maybe they carry the other ones. How about Bed bath and beyond?? or LNT?? They usually have all sorts of goodies for sale.

Thanks again for your great idea and for sharing!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

If you want to try it out without any expense, just visit your local florist. I did that when I wanted to add an enclosure card to a cookie bouquet and they gave me a handful for free!

Our florist (yes we have ONE) balked at me asking for some and said she could not sell or give her supply out. She sugested I look online, so I turned around, walked across the street to Safeway and bought 100. I would have liked them for free, but $10.00 aint bad either!! Stupid florist!
