OK at first I wanted to do something with cakes in it but the more I think about it I want it to be open to other pastries and desserts so I want to try and keep the word "cake" out of my business name. There are the ones I like the best .... let me know if one hits you better than the others and if you don't like any of them please let me know that too.

Thanks

Here are the choices:

Sweet Temptations Bakery
The Snazzy Baker
Dashing Desserts
Dashing Designs Bakery
sweet seduction Bakery
?? Occations Bakery

Here are my thoughts:

Sweet Temptations is nice but typical, expected name.
Snazzy Baker - I like a lot. Maybe The Snazzy Bakery?
Dashing Desserts is really cute too!
Dashing Designs to me, doesn't flow as nice as some of your other name ideas.
Sweet Seduction is so sultry ... I like it too!

I liked sweet seductions initially, but the more I thought about it, the more it sounded like a lingerie shop...

my personal preference is sweet temptations.. just sounds like something with yummy goodness oozing out of it... I'd call to see if I could be tempted...

I like Sweet Temptations best, too. It may be common around the country, but since you're only concerned about your "neck of the woods," then I don't think that should worry you.

I'm not really big on "snazzy" - sounds like an adjective my dad would have used to describe his appearance back in his afro-wearing, disco-dancing days. icon_lol.gif

I agree that Sweet Seduction sounds like a lingerie shop.

Dashing Desserts is pretty good, but I still like Sweet Temptations best.

Good luck with your business!

I like sweet seductions bakery, as long as it has bakery in the title I think it would be hard to confuse it with a lingerie store.

from someone who has a shop name of "Love Bites" and who also gave someone else advice about avoiding a somewhat risque name here on CC and now feels like a complete hipocrit and is very sorry for said advice.
I like sweet seduction.
The big question is:
which one did you love first?

edited..lol casue I put the wrong name in

I would look to see if there are other bakeries online with those names. I would guess Sweet Temptations is WAY common.

Just from your avatar, I would say that Dashing Desserts fits your personality best. But does it fit the style of cake you make? (I'm sorry, I didn't take a peak.)...

Sweet Seducations sounds like it could be naughty cakes too. Which is what everyone thought when I was toying with the idea of Tickle your Fancy cakes.

There's a local backery/cake supply store in my town called "Fantasy in Frosting". Sounds like bad porn, doesn't it? Especially since this area used to be known for its strip clubs. But they're the 'it' place around here and nobody seems to mind the risque name.

Well, you weren't the only one, believe me. I decided on Sweet Melissa's and everyone seems to like that one for some reason! LOL Plus, with Tickle your Fancy cakes, it does limit me to cakes sort of, so it's all fine. I wasn't offended because I asked for the advice!! But it does crack me up that you use Love Bites, now that TRULY can be taken either way! LOL

Are you opening a bakery, or just calling your business a name?
I liked Sweet Temptations. It's kind of generic (not in a bad way!) so you may want to see if that name may already be registered in your county (have a back up). Someone mentioned Creative Confections... I like that too! Or a combo... Sweet Occassions Bakery. I like your signature!

I think I'm in the minority, but I love, love, love The Snazzy Baker. When I think about business names that I can easily remember this name falls into that category like Spanx, The Dippy Chick, etc.

The other names are nice, but don't stand out to me like The Snazzy Baker.

lol icon_lol.gif I know icon_redface.gif actually the person I am buying the shop from her last name is Love, hence the name but it has become such a locally known name it would hurt me finanically to change it at this point. But boy don't I feel like a heel telling you your name was a bit too risque.. icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_sad.gif

Hmmm... probably should've consulted the forum 6 years ago when I named my cheesecake company "Sinful Cheesecake". Let's see... Sinful, as in naughty and cheesecake, which used to be a form of pin up girl. Yeah, and I live in the bible belt... (sigh) Ya know? They don't seem to mind!

No reason to feel like a heel! Too funny about the cake store. The local cake supply store here is Fran's Cake and Candy supply, but Fran just sold it. The new owner's name is NOT Fran but she said she wouldn't THINK about changing it because people have come to trust that store...

I like Sweet Temptaions and Sweet Seductions. I think you should go with the one that suites your personality and cakes best. Sweet Tempations sounds nice, cute, sweet. While Sweet Seductions makes me think more sultry, maybe even very rich, decident desserts.

I like "Dashing Desserts" The word "dashing" just seems elegant but with a cheerful energy. Unusual, too, but not obscure.

Second choice...Snazzy Baker...Snazzy is such a fun word.
