Hi Everyone! My daughters 15th Birthday is on Halloween and we are having a costume/birthday party. I wanted to bake a bithday cake, but she wants a halloween theme decorated cake. Any ideas would be appreciated. ....Gracias!!!!! icon_biggrin.gif

a popular one is to make a "princess castle" only make it a "haunted mansion" type of thing!! You can add fondant grave stones in the "yard" (on the cake board) and even pipe on royal icing cobwebs around the windows and one the sides of the castle.

There's a cool Halloween cat in an old, 1978, I think, Wilton yearbook using the horseshoe pan to make the body and a small round for the head. If you're interested, I could scan it for you.

My son's b-day is the day after Halloween so last year we had a Halloween party. It was before I started doing cakes so we got a cupcake cake from W-M that looked like a skull. It was pretty cool. The kids loved it. I'm sure you could just carve a skull shape (2-D) out of a sheet cake. You might even be able to use those battery operated tea lights to put in the eye sockets for a special effect. Depending how gross you want to go, you could even add some red tinted piping gel for blood. Teenagers would love it! I've got a pick of the cake if you'd like me to email it to you.
