thumbsdown.giftapedshut.gifWARNING!! WARNING!!

My daughter wanted me to make her wedding cake and decorate with real flowers. While speaking with the florist he mentioned this major element we might ALL want to remember: Ivy is poisonous do not use to decorate a cake! The "juice " in the ivy can seep into the icing! In addition, there are other flowers and greenery that are NOT to be used for the very same reasons.
Y'all please ask your florist of the hazards/safety issues of the flowers and greenery you have selected BEFORE you buy. Or, maybe we can post a list "Posionous Flowers and Greenery" on this site before we visit the florist.
My daughter loved her cake. There were 3 tiers and the flowers cascaded and curved down 1 side. It was my first cake and the flowers hid some "boo-boos". The fresh flowers added a delightful aroma!

That is great to know. I would have never thought of that since the flowers or greenery were for decoration only. Thanks for the heads up!
