I am ready to buy my first real fondant. I have used Wilton (yuck) and MMF before. What brand would you guys suggest?
Thanks
Barbara
I usually make my own, but I have tried quite a few brands and Pettinice is my personal favorite. Satin Ice comes in a close second. The prices are similar. Satin Ice is softer than Pettinice and (I think) it comes in a lot of colors. Satin Ice also makes gumpaste and in a lot of vibrant colors.

Make my own (I use the Wilton recipe and add different flavorings), but if need to buy I recommend Satin Ice, thats my prefference. Cheffie
Satin Ice and Pettinice are really good, and I just got some fondX this summer at the ICES convention. it seems pretty good, too.
I also vote for pettinice. It comes in chocolate also, and tastes divine. I like satinice too, and it does come in great, vibrant colors if you need it (I hate trying to get bright colors in fondant!)
I haven't used fondx, but I've heard great things about it too. I've also heard chocopan is to die for, but it's not available to me locally and I just can't bring myself to pay so much (it's pricey) plus shipping, if I'm not sure it's worth it.
MillLane (from Canada - but can order) is my favourite, second would be Massa Grischuna (from Switzerland). Both have great stretch and are forgiving.
I had my first experience with Pettinice while at Cake Camp and it's not for me. SatinIce was not something I liked either. Just my opinion
I took a class from Linda Shonk at Cake Camp and now I am a convert to using Choco-Pan. I only used fondant for decorations before because I don't like it. but Choco-Pan is good. The dark choc. tastes like Tootsie Rolls. it's great for cookie decorating too.
i know there are recipes for it but I haven't tried it yet. Planning on trying it this week though.
