Hey there !! I know royal icing begins to break down when it comes in contact with buttercreme. My question is how long does it take ? I have a lot of royal icing flowers to put on a cake this weekend and don't want to do it too soon and end up with a big mess. THANKS

I did a cake iced in IMBC with royal icing flowers and if I remember correctly it was atleast a day, maybe two before they started to break down. Even then though, they didn't look bad they were just softer.
