If a cake is baked and iced on Tuesday, will it still be moist, taste fresh, etc. for a party on Saturday?

If not...would it be possible to say, bake, ice and decorate the cake, and then freeze it til Saturday....and it would be moist and fresh???

Just wondering. Thanks very much for any replies!

freezing would be better, if you have the room.

As far as a cake staying fresh from tuesday to saturday really depends on the recipe, but anykind i do i would consider to old by then.

If you HAVE to bake the cake that many days early, then freeze it before icing it. Personally, I'd wait and bake it on Friday. Do it real early or stay up real late but it would be the freshest that way.
A cake can keep about a week; but you don't know how long they will have leftovers after their party!
