I'm hoping to make a web site soon and don't have enough photos yet for each holiday and occasion. I'm curious...what themes/ideas/cookies are you concentrating on now? How often do you update your website pictures? Do you offer everyday celebration cookies (such as BBQ, Back To School) in addition to event-type cookies (birthdays, holidays, weddings, showers, etc)? Do you have a cookie website?

Well, I may have different answers than you want because I don't sell cookies-- I just sell the stuff to make them on my web site. But I update my web site just as often as I can to keep it fresh. Right now I'm concentrating on fall and winter cookies. I've been baking up a storm the past few days to get new pictures in the gallery to give people ideas for their holiday baking. That is priority for me, but I also have been doing some fun hobby/celebration cookies thrown in there for those who aren't that interested in the holiday stuff. I think the bigger your variety, the more you'll appeal to a broader group of people. Let us know when your web site is up! icon_smile.gif

btw, my web site is www.karenscookies.net. Click on Gallery to see what I've been focusing on the past few days.

Nice site..... see quite a few cutters I need but I always check the shipping fees before I get too involved in picking out stuff but I can't seem to do that without registering? Am I missing the link where they give some sort of an estimate on shipping? thanks icon_smile.gif

Right now we're doing $4.95 flat rate shipping on orders up to $75- Free after that. Sorry that's not more clear. Mabye we need to make it more clear. Thanks for the feedback!

Is that $4.95 for shipping regardless of what you buy? Up to $75, and then it's free?? If that's the case, you need to plaster that all over the website because as an internet consumer, s/h is the deciding factor as to which site I use, you know? I sell on ebay so playing the shipping game is something I am familiar with icon_lol.gif and will often list an item at a higher price with free shipping, even though I have to pay a fee on the final value, not the s/h, knowing people will bid more since some people's s/h fees are SO outrageous.

thanks icon_smile.gif

icon_redface.gif as I just realized my cart is at almost $60, I see the shipping box at the bottom where it says $4.95 - I must have missed it! Sorry...and I appologize to OP for hijacking thread.

To answer original question, I am trying to get 5 cutter themes for bouquets.....for M-day, F-day, Happy B-day, Halloween, Christmas, Congrats, etc.....

Karen,
What a FANTASTIC site, lots of great cutters and inspiration and helpful downloads!

I am looking for a one stop shop for my stuff, would you consider selling dragees as part of your line?

Thanks so much, I am glad I clicked on it. icon_smile.gif

cookiechef...most inquiries i get are for weddings. i also get a ton for birthdays, get well, and holiday.
i need to find the time to redo my website. it's true what they say...less is more. i think i went a little overkill with the folders.
good luck. i can't wait to check out your website.

I'm planning on adding dragees soon. Hopefully within the next few weeks. It's been a challenge building up my inventory to something I'm happy with! But I'm getting there... icon_smile.gif Thanks!

Right now, I'm focusing on Fall, Halloween, Christmas, and Wedding. Baby and Valentine's Day will be next. I'm making and decorating cookies so I can take pictures for my website. Hopefully, my website will be up as soon as my kitchen inspection is passed in a few week (crossing my fingers!).

I've been doing lots of flower bouquets, but mostly I'm experimenting with a new type of cookie display. I get kinda obsessed, and what started out as 3 different cookie shapes has exploded to over 40! Drat that full-time job that keeps me out of the kitchen! I can't wait for Halloween and Christmas!

I'm waiting for Karen to post over seas. I must be blind because I just can't find some stuff where I live that I can get cheaper over seas and delivered to my front door.
C by D has a great list of things that they sell on their website. They change the top four or so according to the year which I thought was a great idea and then they have the standards like bdays, congrats etc...

I agree with the others...your site is great Karen...

Some of the things I am working on are "back to school" cookies, fall ones-like an apple-picking theme, Halloween and harvest cookies. Will be doing samples in August for September on.

Thanks guys! icon_smile.gif I'm so glad that people find my site useful. It has been a lot of work, but it's worth it when I hear that people are using it.

As for what cookies to focus on, one of my favorite places to look for inspiration is the scrapbooking sites. I'm not a scrapbooker myself (too busy making cookies and cakes!), but they sure have some great inspiration that translates well to cookies. I like to see what they're focusing on and follow suit.

Karen, I have LOVED your cookies for several years, I noticed the website (storefront must be something new?), with pictures of your cookies a few years back. Where can I find the cookie cutter that is Santa's face? I LOVE those cookies! icon_rolleyes.gif

I have the santa face cutter on my site, or you can find it on foosecookiecutters.com, or pretty much any of the big cookie cutter sites (cookiecutter.com (Off the Beaten Path), etc.) I like the Santa faces, too. They're fun to do!
