I have a wedding cake due on the 11th of Aug. and the cake I'm not AS worried about as the construction of the cake. Here is a link to the cake the bride wants its the cake on the home page

She is going in all buttercream with the ribbon but no flower accents or no flowers on top. It's a pretty simple cake (as I've found out the simpler the cake sometimes is hardest).

What would I use for the support?? Center dowel? What size?? Does anyone know what is in between the cakes that the boards are sitting on??? The last question what sizes would you use to feed 250??

Sorry to ask so many questions but I have never done a cake this size or a tiered cake (paid). Thanks for all your help.

It looks like it's this stand:

A 16/12/8/6 would be exactly 250 servings. The good news is that a square cake is very easy to cut 'right' to get the correct number of servings. Here's the Wilton serving chart: http://www.wilton.com/wedding/cakeinfo/cakedata.cfm

Here's a pictorial on how to cut the cake: http://cateritsimple.com/_wsn/page19.html
