For me Duncan Hines works the best. I don't like using the pudding in the mix. Most of the boxed mixes has pudding. I always use the classic white.

One of my instructors recommended Pillsbury and ever since, I have used only Pillsbury. Everyone thinks my cakes are made from scratch. But between you and me, if DH is on sale, I'll buy DH.

DH makes the BEST white cake, but their French Vanilla and their butter receipe Golden Vanilla are horrible! So I use Betty Crocker's French Vanilla and it's great - I always get compliments! I rarely make chocolate, but BC had a Dark Chocolate out that I can't find any more, but that was really good. I now use their Triple Chocolate and it's good too, but as much as I love chocolate, I'm not a fan of chocolate cake so I don't make it very much, unless someone requests German chocolate cake or a chocolate raspberry.

I have always found that the majority of CC members seem to like DH.

I LOVE Betty Crocker. I mainly use Chocolate Fudge, Golden Vanilla, and Lemon.

I used to be very loyal to DH (except for Carrot and Butter Pecan - I use BC - because DH doesn't make those flavors), BUT ... since DH seems to not work so well for me anymore, I have slowly transitioned to BC. I really like the BC flavors I've used so far, and I think that BC's Golden Vanilla is worlds better than DH's french vanilla. I've never been a big fan of Pillsbury.

DH for me....it's what I grew up with. icon_smile.gif I use it doctored for a decorated cake and straight from the box for home consumption. Don't particularly care for Pillsbury.

I usually use DH, especially (doctored) white, lemon, and devil's food. I have tried Pillsbury several times (bought on sale), and have been unhappy every time. Lately, I have been using BC triple chocolate fudge and chocolate fudge, and like them better than the DH chocolate.

To me before I started decorating cake I felt that pillsbury cakes were to sweet. I have used DH. But prefer BC especially the French Vanilla and Milk Chocolate. I actually got a customer because she totally loved the french vanilla cake I did for her sisters birthday. She only liked chocolate until she tasted the french vanilla. And at Wal-Mart it is only .88 so cheap but SO YUMMY. I really haven't done any other flavors yet so I am still experimenting. But I would say my vote BC thumbs_up.gif

DH, although I'm not sure I have a really good explanation as to why.. It's cheaper by about $0.10 a box, does that count? icon_confused.gif LOL

Betty Crocker always!! I use the golden vanilla for ANYONE that asks for vanilla cake because it is so yummy and goes perfectly with Buttercream.
As for chocolate-I use the chocolate fudge flavor. YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With some chocolate fudge icing or chocolate buttercream, it is to die for!!
