I have to decorate some cookies with navy blue frosting, but I'm having trouble making it the right shade. I have tried mixing colors starting off with royal blue and another time with country blue. Anyone out there know how to make navy blue? icon_cry.gif

hey there!

navy blue is such a fussy color...and because the high school near me is navy blue and gold..i use it alot icon_smile.gif

I usually start with a medium-healthy amount of sky blue (wilton colors-but im sure others would work just fine) and the alternate adding drops of violet and then black and then mixing after each addition of the black or the violet....but only add a little at a time...and then when you think the color is about perfect...let it sit for a bit..because it is going to get darker....the last batch i made darkened quite a bit...

ive done this tons of times..and it always works out..icon_smile.gif Maybe you could try a small batch just to test it and then you can count your drops or whatever icon_smile.gif

Best of luck!

I use royal blue with a little black. Americolor makes a navy blue color.
