OMG!!!!!!! I just tried the add violet method to my yellowish buttercream and it worked.

i could'nt believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi guys

well i just made the buttercream then i used wiltons violet gel color and using a toothpick added a smidge at a time until it looked white.

and thats it... amazing hey!!!

that is wierd. i dont understand how violet would make it white.

it is weird but it does work, something about violet cancels out yellow.

there are some post topics on cc that explain how it works.

i am looking at my white buttercream right now and before i added the violet it was still a yellow color.

it works by way of the color wheel....

violets are opposite yellows and therfore will sort of "counteract" each other. Here's a visual reference...

I used Americolor violet, only a drop or two or three in a batch of icing and could not believe the results!
