Mmf Not Working

I am making a mmf bow, and it is not working like the wilton fondant does. The bow is turning out to flimsy. Help!!

You can add gum paste or tylose powder. It really works with MMF.

yeah mmf is flimsy for that kinda stuff. like cakesunleashed said, use gum paste (never used tylose powder, tho) it really helps

I made a MMF bow yesterday and it is pretty hard today. Usually I roll out on Crisco and grease the rolling pin with Crisco which softens it out. When I made my bow, I used cornstarch which helped stiffen it up some. The loops are drying on a broomstick just like the instructions on here says to do, and it is fairly stiff today. I don't need it until Friday so it ought to be set!

MMF needs something to help it harden. Adding gum paste, about 50%, to the MMF should do the trick. I did find it takes longer to be really hard, but in 24 hours it's hard enough to "stand alone". Happy baking.
