Hi,
I was out of town this week and had the most amazing cake ever. It was so heavenly. It was called a ribbon cake and had a layer of fluffy chocolate cake on bottom, a creme filling (think bavarian creme or vanilla pudding like), a small layer of sliced fresh strawberries over the filling, then a layer of golden fluffy cake, and finally, it was iced with fresh whipped cream, that I guess must have been stabilized. I have no idea why, because the components seem relatively simple, but it was out of this world!!!!!!!!! I would love to have the recipe for it or know how to make it. Any ideas?
I don't have the recipe, but, MAN DOES THIS SOUND YUMMIE!!!! Maybe someone will see this again and direct us to where we can find it.
you gave the recipe:
bake one decadent chocolate cake that's "fluffy"
bake one golden yellow cake (bet it was a butter recipe) that is also fluffy.
level and tort each.
take on tort layer from chocolate cake and put on plate.
slather on bavarian creme or similar
layer on thinly sliced strawberries
place one tort layer of yellow cake on top.
ice in stabilized whipped creme.
repeat process w/ remaining chocolate and golden tort layers to create a second cake.
(serve me one and yourself the other )
