i love this buttercream but i have to make a cake for sunday and i was wondering if i did it today could i leave it out for a day or two?

Sometimes I'll make it a day or two in advance, put it in fridge until I need it. I keep it stiff. I take it out a few hours before I plan to use it, to make it soft.

its a full sheet for monday, and im trying to work around my work schedule so im baking the cakes today and i guess ill make the icing...but i want to be able to leave it out sunday and monday. its got shortening in it so i \\figured it would be okay. i dont have the fridge space for a full sheet, i wish i had that huge refrigerator they show on tv!!!! icon_cry.gif

I believe once you decorate the cake the icing might melt because of all the butter I know you can leave it in the fridge if made inadvance and let sit out a while before you use it to ice the cake
