hi
I need a fondant smoother but I havent bought one yet,so I was wondering if there is something that I can use for now that gives the same result?
thankyou
What were you going to use the fondant smoother for?
I use a fondant smoother for my buttercream icing, to make smooth. and it works sooooo great!!
Others use warm spatula, or hands.
I've never made fondant it self though.. so I couldnt help to give ideas on other ways to smooth it.
The wilton fondant smoother is super cheap though. I believe $4.99
hi
I want to smooth out fondant with it.If you look at my spooky castle cake in the halloween gallery, you can see why.
Fondant Smoothers are almost $15 here and most times I have to buy what I need online,so theres extra for postage.
I even tried ebay..the postage is too much.
I'm not too mean to buy one.I just cant get one yet.
...you can get'em on ebay too....anything flat will work, something that wont catch an edge...I have used the wide handle of a knife before....
Plastic gloves help a lot when you have to use your hands - is your birthday anytime soon? Make sure you get one then - I use mine for BC and fondant - love it.
In the meantime, definitly get a box of gloves, so worth it! No more fingerprints on the fondant!
...lol...your right! Gloves do help.....I use a paper towel sometimes....lay down the papertowel and move the smoother across it.....
I wonder if it would be cheaper to have one of us here buy one with the 40% off Hobby Lobby Wilton coupon and send it to you? I don't know what shipping to Australia is like though?? I bet a lot of people would be willing to do it for you if its worth it, I know I would. I'm in Indiana if you want to find out what shipping would be, zip code is 46953.
thankyou for all the tips and thankyou for the offer Dustbunny.
I really appreciate it all.
I'll try using the gloves first to see how I go.
no Sweet Results,my birthday was in April.
I gave that Halloween cake to my niece, she took it to her work for afternoon tea, they loved it that much that they would like me to make some chocolate cakes for their work Christmas party there will be about 100 people there...
Could someone please tell me how many cakes would I have to make for
that many people and what size would they have to be? I have no idea
thankyou
