I'm making a waterfall cake...made gumpaste hibiscus and now I'm worrying they are too big/heavy to just "sit" on the edges...... I was thinking RI or candy melts to attach but I'm worried it may pull off the fondant.. I was hoping< icon_rolleyes.gif > to keep it all as edible as possible but I'm wondering if I attached wires to the back of the Hibiscus and then poked them into the cake.......? Or any other suggestions are appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

I would just stick them on the cake with RI. If you are transporting the cake you might want to wait and put the flowers on after you set it on the table.

Wire wouldn't hurt. They'll probably take off the flowers when they serve the cake anyway. That way there will be a little hole and not a big blob of icing.

I fyou do wire, make sure you wrap the wire, or even better. stick a coffee straw in the cake and put RI in and insert wire into straw. You can even do your flower in the straw in advance and let dry, then stick into cake on location.
