Hi CC,

Help! I'll be vacationing in VT next week at our family's lake house in Woodstock. I just learned that some friends will be joining us to celebrate a birthday, and I have no idea where to find a birthday cake in the area. (I'd bake it myself, but the oven in our lake house is totally slanted -- no kidding!)

I'm just looking for a simple 8" round layer cake -- nothing fancy, but definitely tasty! icon_biggrin.gif Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Lauren

My oven needs a bit of leveling itself but until I remember to have dh do it, I wedge a regular butter knife under the low side of the cake pan and it works great.

Have fun!
