Here is a little scheme pulled on me by my son for April Fool's Day (his second favorite holiday) dad helped him out too 
These were cakes for a wedding cake due that afternoon, he asked my husband to buy a "prop" cake at the market (even had the bakery dept. wipe off the decorations) and made this interesting switch:

OMG! That's hilarious!! How much did you yell/cry at him before he told you, "April Fool's!"
OMG I think I would have cried and hurt someone had they played a joke on me like that, expecially with a wedding cake. Oh my I will not let anyone in my family see this "joke"
It looks like you took it in stride though, definitely a creative bunch you have in the household.
