Help..... How would you make a wedding cake for kids my church is having a wedding for kids and i was ask to make the cake and i'm not sure what to do because the cake will be for children Help me out please
What kind of wedding? Is there a theme to it?
No its no theme to it tomthumb wedding that is what it is called
I guess for kids I would think more fairytale like. Not plain and simple, but lots of frill.
I just have to ask, why is there a wedding for kids?
same ? why a wedding for kids...
u can make it with disney type themes...but i don't know how that would go...
Its something different to do its like some pre schools have proms for kids same thing just some thing different and cute
I found this from the website aweddingtradition.com
"During the 1920's came many fads. The "Tom Thumb" wedding was one of the more interesting fads to come into style. At these events you would see a mock wedding with children dressed in formal attire. This fad was fashioned after the famous midget pair in the P.T. Barnum Circus. They were Tom Thumb and Lavinia Warren, married in 1863."
Interesting....
Something similar to this happened at a neighbor's preschool. They had a teddy bear wedding and the theme for everything was teddy bears. Teddy bear cake topper, teddy bear cookies, etc.
Good luck.
Welcome. I'd heard of them before but hadn't ever looked up why they exist.
Since they are really little kids maybe cupcakes...or do they want an actual cake to cut?
It's a victorian tradition - maybe do something with that feel? It also has it's roots in the circus - so that opens up a whole lot of possibility.
