mamacc - your work is extraordinary!!! How did you do such beautiful detail work on the baby's blanket????

Thanks Noosie! Actually the baby blanket was pretty easy. I used these texture plates made by fiskars to get the impression in the fondant and then I cut out each quilt square and laid them on piece by piece. The back didn't come out as "clean" as the front...it was much harder to do when I got down to where the blanket would fold naturally. It was the third baby cake I made so I had to think of a new challenge for myself, LOL.

Wow! These are all just stunning guys! I too LOVE sculpted cakes though have pictures of only two. Dying to try more!! I now have this problem where everything I see I think "Hey, bet that could be turned into a cake!" I know, I'm sure there is a 12-step program for that.... Thanks! I have my next one to start tomorrow for my son's 3rd b-day a "dinosaur-lizard" But after seeing all these dinos and dragons lately.... got that combo of inspired/intimidated going on. Sheez!

Ok...so about 99% of my cakes are sculpted.... ...I don't think I have this one in the gallery....it's pretty simple...

You guys really rock at this! Amazing cakes. I've only made three. The castle was for a 10 year old girl's birthday. Her brother kept trying to open the castle door. The owl was just a copy from Deb Brown and the tree trunk elf cake was for Thanksgiving since I don't like traditional decorations.
