Also, I just wanted to add that all the cakes here are incredible. I went to each of the photos and commented (where allowed - a couple didn't have the comment feature activated). I agree with MCook, when I see all of these beautiful works of art I become inspired to get my butt into the kitchen and begin working. Thanks for all the inspiration. And keep those photos coming!

I agree with the wise person who said it inspireres to go baking...
I had no cakes this weekend, but glad I dident I just needed a weekend whitout work and spend it with the kids.
I hope to learn to be just half as good as everyone here....

Here's mine... I made this for my coworker's daughter that was turning 8 on Saturday.
To get pictures the right size, www.shrinkpictures.com is a great FREE resource. I use them to shrink all of my pictures (they even have an avatar shrinking option). The first couple of times that I used it, I had issues so I just emailed them and they totally fixed it so I could use it.

Wow! All of the cakes on this thread are amazing! 7/7 was my birthday, and I got a Walmart cake...go figure! Now I feel as though I have celebrated vicariously (and without calories) through all of you with your beautiful cakes!

here is mine from the lucky day - i was so worried that it would not make it thru the reception as we were in a barn, yes you read me right, we were in a barn and it was about 90 degrees outside with no airflow in the barn. we had to peel off our clothes by the end of the night. but at least the cake survived, very soft but survived
