OMG! Her cakes are the most exquisite works of art I've ever seen!

I was just watching Bobby Flay's Throwdown - "Wedding Cakes" on the Food Network. He 'throws down' with Michelle Doll and but he also did a short clip with Margaret Braun. I am totally enamored by her work! I hadn't heard of her until now (I'm new to cakes and decorating).

Just thought I'd share.

you should look at her book called cake walk. i have not seen inside it yet but the cover looks interesting.

Ohhh..I adore her book! Her cakes are such beautiful works of art but if you look at the pictures you can see so many little natural imperfections in them and it just makes them seem so much more doable and interesting. And she herself is so adorable and natural looking!

I agree -- MB is an amazing cake artist. Has anyone tried to scuplt cakes like she does? It looks as though she cuts out "waves" in the tops of her tiers as well.

I'd love to understand how she does it.

I have her book and love looking through it, I call it "Eye Candy" but I don't think it is very practical. I doubt seriously that I would ever recreate any of her cakes myself. But beautiful? Yes!
