First Order For Tuxedo Strawberries - How Many??

A girl at work is getting married in December and wants 3-4 cheesecakes for her groom's cake - not a cheesecake cake - just regular, undecorated cheesecakes. Then on top of and around the cheesecakes, she wants tuxedo strawberries. I asked her how many strawberries she wants, and she said "whatever looks good".
So...how many strawberries (ball park) do you guys think would look "cute but not overwhelming" (bride's words)? And I'm thinking of charging $20/dozen...does that seem about right?
Thanks!!
have you ever tried to buy nice large strawberries in december? might want to figure out how much that is going to cost you
or charge her cost of berries plus $X per dozen
and don't let this go - get a firm number from h, or you'll have trouble later on. Suggest a number if you must, but she needs to agree in writing on the number and the cost per dozen.
I would also suggest an alternative to strawberries too, just in case. Sometimes there are NO strawberries that time of year. I would hate to have her find that out jsut the week before her event. Have you tried the Winter Cherry Topping in the Cake Bible?
what size of cheesecake are you trying to put these on?
Will they be on a stand or just set up next to each other?
I agree with the others, call your local grocer and see what the prices were last december and remember you will have to buy more to get larger berries.
I would make it in your contract that the price you are giving may go up due to availability of strawberries. Make this a cost that she has to pay up front at the end or have her choose another topping.
