I think that one of the greatest forms of flattery here on CC is when someone adds your cake photo to their favorites icon_smile.gif
I would like to take this time to Thank everyone that has ever added one of my cake photos to their favorites. We have so many talented people on here. It's simply amazing to have so much talent gathered in one place. I feel truly honored to belong to CC.
I know that I have tons of favorites saved icon_smile.gif

Thank you to everyone for their contributions,
Lazy_Susan

I know how you feel! There is such amazing talent found here on CC. I hope I can be half as good as many of the decorators here someday.

Knowing that there are so many more skilled decorators than myself, what a great feeling it is when I see that one of my cakes has been added to another members favorites! It is has been a huge confindence booster for me as well. icon_smile.gif

Lazy_Susan,
after reading your post I had to glance in your gallery, no wonder!!!! Your cakes are beautiful and elegant. I do want to ask, do you use an 8" for your round cakes. I love the look of a tall round cake. I actually do not have an 8" and was on the hunt for one last night, going back out today.
Beautiful work....

Thank you so much! What a wonderful compliment.
Yes I use an 8" round cake pan. I also use the bake even strips. It makes the cakes so tall! And rarely do I ever have to trim them.

I think there is an actual quote that says "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery". I know when I put photos in my favorites, it's because I want to do something like it myself some day. So, you're right. Putting photos in your favorites is the greatest form of flattery!

yes it is.

but personally feeling a bit miffed right now, and this topic was explored ad nauseum earlier...

as I know of at least TWO cakes posted to galleries in past several days where I advised and in one of thems case the design was "spec on" to what I supplied....but in the posting...not mention of "thanks to....for design help."

also miffed about people who ask for custom designed template and then after it is posted don't even bother to say thank you.

I think it's awesome to have that feature too. Makes you feel so good to know other people, especially other decorators like your work.

It's also very nice to see when people give credit to the original designer when they make something similar. I know I've seen a few cakes that look very close to ones I've made and think..."Hey!! That's my cake!!" Makes me feel great! But then no credit is given...so that kinda bums me out. I have tons of other people's cakes saved in my favorites and hope to make them someday too!

Yes, Doug, you should have been thanked. Especially where they know you're watching for their finished project.
