I have a male 21st Birthday Cake to do and I would love some ideas. He is at university studying accountancy. It is just for the immediate family so it will be an 8" square mud cake. All I can think of is books calculator pens etc so I sure someone will be able to help me out. Pictures of ones you have done would be helpful and if will you allow me to copy them. Thanks. icon_smile.gif

All that comes to mind for me is an alcohol theme too. The college themes you are think of seem better fitted for his graduation. I'm watching this thread because my own son is turning 21 in about six weeks and I am looking for an idea of a non-alcohol theme.

does he have any other past times or hobbies, such as hunting, watching sports, etc.

you could always put the mascot of the university he goes to on the cake...

my boyfriend came up with a couple good ideas...

a fancy car
a sport hes into
hobbies hes into
and a poker chip (hes finally leagal)
a slot machine ( leagal)

i dont really like the idea of booze, but i guess it depends on the type of person he is!

i think the poker chip is a awesome idea, cuz its a round cake and all...

and there's the challenge >> they can vote at 18, sign a contract at 18, be drafted/serve in military at 18, get married w/out parent consent at 18, etc.

about the only thing they have to wait to do at 21 is to drink, that's about all that is special about that age.

makes it a big challenge to find a non-alcohol way to have some fun w/ that b-day.

which then leads back to what are his hobbies? his sports? fan of what teams? fav. bands/music? fav. movies? any other special non-school related interests? or school realted: clubs? frat? intramural sports?

somewhere in there is a possiblity.

example: if likes deer hunting... do a deer head w/ a 21 point rack and a candle on end of every point. "here's a 21 point salute to a deer friend."

if into guns, could do a 21-gun salute.

Unfotunately I really don't know the guy so it is a bit hard to know his hobbies. Legal age here for alcohol is 18 but could still do that theme as it is something these young adults relate to. Have already decorated 2 cakes for his brothers, football and golf so it does make it a hard decision. Did see a cake with a scrabble board and thought this might be a good idea with wording connected to 21st birthday. Thanks for your ideas.

If you want an easy one (case you run short of time), an accountant theme:

The numbers add up

4
9
8
_____
21

(Use significant numbers to him adding to 21)...

Doug, that's a good idea even if he is NOT into guns! It has to do with 21!
Ha Ha, I just thought of drawing 21 squirt guns squirting at a picture of him! To give a little humor and make it less of a gun theme!

Would something like this work? Adjusted to the size you need, of course.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I have come up with the following with the help of someone's help on this site. Thanks to whose cake it was. As he was going to University and studying accountancy and like the odd ale I made some books, calendar and a computer,as well as the university emblem and scarf and beanie also his favourite beer.
