Cooking Multiple Pans In Electric Oven Good Or Bad??

Thanks to Hobby Lobby I now have two 12 x 18 pans.
Has anyone used both at one time,in and electric oven ?
Did you have any problems with the cake not being done or browning to much on bottom one.

I just won't do it myself. I am too chicken to wreck anything. When I make cookies, I put two cookie sheets on two racks, but I switch their places while baking, you can't do that with a cake in the middle of baking. Maybe you can, I personally just wouldn't.

I do it and it works fine. You do have to bake a bit longer though.

I have wondered about that as well, as If I have 3 cakes to do, can I put 2 in the oven together.

I haven't yet as I'm worried about them sinking if I try to swap them around. Unfortunately it means my cooker is on for a very long time!!!! icon_eek.gif cheers Jan

I wouldn't do it unless you have a large enough oven for good airflow around the pans. I wouldn't swap them either but that's just me. A small round I'd fuss around with though.

But this dilemma is why I got a double oven!!

Thank you for your opinions,
I may just do a test run to find out,
With these high electric bills, I am just trying a shortcut but if it does not work.
Then I will just pay for the extra electricity.

I can do it with mine because it's an electric convection oven. I have three racks so I can bake a lot of cakes!! I once bake 9 8" cakes at the same time!!! took only 30 minutes!!! I couldn't do it without my convection oven icon_smile.gif
