I need to make a wrestling ring. I don't have a square pan so I thought I would try to make one mix in an 11x15 and cut 2 7 1/2" squares out of it. But, would one mix be way to thin in that pan or could I adjust cooking time? My other option is a 9x11 but I liked the idea of thiner larger squares so the ring will not be too high.
Thanks in advance.

1 mix in an 11x15 pan is going to give a 1 inch-high cake (I did this last week to make petit fours). If that's what you're going for, then yes, it works fine. Normally, I use 2 mixes for an 11x15 sheet.

I've never done it; but I don't see why not. It still won't be square. To get a square out of that it won't be able to be more than 7 1/2 inches. Unless you do two 11x15s with one mix each and cut two 11x11s out of them and use the rest of the cake on your family.
