Is this the Pro series or the Artisian? I actually have both and love them! That is a good price for either one.

I bought this one at Christmas, it works great - haven't had any problems with it at all.
It's made specifically for Costco and I believe Sam's Club. So you won't find any information on it at the KA site. I called them before I bought it because I wanted to know more about it. That's when they told me it was exclusive to Costco.

This is the Professional HD Mixer

Why is the wattage so high (475)
What does this do for the mixer?

I like that it is 11cups and has the stainless hook, padddle etc!

I have an Artisan- this one is the lever lift- do they work well?
Advantages, disadvatages to the lever lift thing???

You just have to get used to the bowl lift - need to remove the paddle before removing the bowl. I prefer the tilt head models because of this but that maybe because I'm so used to tilt heads.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my KitchenAid mixer!!! It makes quick work of everything, including the fondant. I have a 6 qt professional series in both red and yellow. Wish I could buy a couple more because I'm loving mixing all of the cookie dough and then making my own fondant to cover the cookies... Love Toba's recipes in her cookie book. My family and friends have loved being testers!

As far as between the lift and tilt my mechanic husband says that the reason the lift can handle more flour is they don't have as much play where the joint is for the tilt.

No matter which style you pick KAs are worth it.
