Cake is due in 2 hours. Fondant covered wedding cake with fondant ribbons to simulate pattern in the dress. I can't get a shiny effect on the fondant with the luster dust like I thought I could? Fondant ribbons need to look satiny. Any ideas that don't require me going to the store? Thanks so much!

Do you have super pearl dust? I've always had luck with that one to get a nice look

Thanks for your help! I brushed a little egg white, let it dry, and spritzed with water. Looks great, well, a lot better anyway.

I know its way too late to help you out, but to get it super shiny use a mixture of cornsyrup and vodka. 3 parts vodka to 1 part cornsyrup.
