I live in the little village of Nottawa, Ontario (Canada) in the beautiful Georgian Triangle . . . 15 minutes from the world's longest freshwater beach, 15 minutes to the best skiing in Ontario . . . aaaah!
I started decorating cakes a few years ago for our children -- 4 boys and 5 girls (oldest 16, youngest 6 mos.) By the time I get good at birthday cakes I'm going to have to learn wedding cakes!
This forum is wonderful for ideas and help. I'm greatly enjoying it!

I know where that is! They've got the BEST water! It's a small world!! If ya get back this way, get in touch!
I almost fell off my seat when I read Durant. But then I saw FLorida. I grew up and graduated from Durant, Iowa. Small town of about 6-7,000. I thought I might know you, as everyone knows everyone there, but no such luck this time.
Wouldn't that be somethin'! Durant is a real small town here too!
My husband is AF, so currently we live in Warner Robins, GA. Our last base was in Shreveport, LA. Originally we're from Mobile, AL.

Hi there!
I'm in Fairhope, AL....just across the bay from Mobile, AL. Grew up in Mobile but got smart and moved to the eastern shore. But now it's growing so much that we've moved out to the "country"....between Fairhope & Foley sort of! Small world!

Wow - finally - someone else living in CT - Hey Tasycakes.
I live in Enfield CT - about 20 minutes north of Hartford. I've been happly married 7 years and and blessed to have a 6 year old girl I just love to death. Had my baby late in life and love every minute with her. Hubby and I still have "Date Night" every Friday night - alternating who picks what the date will consist of. Keeps the juices flowing if you know what I mean.
Ilove this place ![]()

Hi Everyone,
My name is Daniela. I was born in Calabria, Italy but I moved to Toronto when I was 4 and I've been here ever since!! I think it's wonderful how so many talented people can come together from all areas of the world and share their thoughts and ideas. ![]()
I Love this site and I'm sure that 50 years from now I'll still be here.
Hi Folks,
Glad to see so many Canadians on this list! I live near a very small Hamlet called Dorothy, Alberta. The hamlet of Dorothy has a population of 5 people. (Not kidding!) Dorothy is about 20 miles east of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. We live 30 miles from the nearest town, so no cake decorating supplies anywhere!
I have been married to the same man for 28 years and we have two children a son 25 married (no grandbabies yet....sniff) And a daughter 27. My daughter wants me to make her wedding cake. I've been reading every post in preparation! Great Site.
Would you all do me a favor, not painting related. If anyone on this list, lives in the Boston area, or has visited Boston, could you contact me off list, need some insight on travel plans.
Thanks!

Oops! I meant not "cake decorating related" (I'm a painter too)
Looks like I'm the first from Las Vegas, NV. I'm baking with four little girls 'helping'. Ages 6, 3, 1 1/2, and 2 months. I'm loving all the helpful hints and info!

Looks like it has been awhile since anyone posted here, and since I see few New Englanders, and so far no Vermonters, I would like to expand the geography! Not a native (very important here), but resident for nearly 8 years. Moved from CT and have lived in a variety of places, but love the Carribean most of all!
Hi everyone!! I grew up in Marrero and Metairie, LA, just outside of New Orleans. Went to college in Galveston, TX and now have been living in Blairs, VA (about 1-1/2 hours south of Roanoke) for the last 8 years.
Mostly grew up in the Farmington Valley - Canton and Avon (before they were so posh!), Married in Simsbury and lived in West Hartford for a number of years before moving here. My MIL still lives in Glastonbury and we have a handful of relatives in Waterbury/Watertown. Have not known too many folks from Enfield or Vernon, but on occasion through work, mostly.
I'm originally from Philly, Pennsylvania (a small town called Quakertown really), moved to Houston, Texas in 1979 with my parents (during the big boom) and now live in a small town outside Houston called Magnolia. I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 years (in July) and we have 4 absolutely wonderful children (they take after their dad!!!). Their ages are 18, 16, 14 and 11. My 18 year old is graduating in two weeks!!!!
Hi, I'm from the Central Valley in California. Born in Hanford, raised in Kettleman City until 8, then moved to Delano, and as an adult moved to Porterville. All small, rural little towns although Porterville is growing. My DH & I have raised our 4 kids and are making plans to sell & move to Arizona within the next year.
I was born, raised, and married in Manistique. It's a small town in the Upper part of Michigan. My 10 year anniversary is coming in July (isn't that diamonds?!!) We have a son and a daughter ages 8 and 6. My son just made his first communion!!
