I tell ya, these requests get stranger and stranger. icon_confused.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gif Anyone have ideas or has seen a picture of a sculpted skunk cake. Perhaps even another animal which resembles a skunk I can use as a guideline. I haven't called the client back yet to accept or decline the job. I am curious though to see if it is doable. Of course the idea of so much BLACK fondant is daunting. icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

here's an attempt.

so half round for the tail up on a block of cake if you want the whole or carry block full width if dont.

main body -- wonder mold tilted.

head -- RKT

legs section from other half of round -- and paw built out w/ scraps of it too.

dowel, crumb coat and then either BC or fondant

Maybe you could use the Wilton stand up bear pan. I've seen a squirrel made with that pan. The shapes are similar. I think they used two cupcakes to shape the tail. Doug's idea looks great, but I've never carved a cake before. The bear pan might be easier, but not as realistic. Have fun if you take the order!
