Instead of using the ziplock, just use the old fashioned sandwich bags (the ones that fold over). I saw a post on here some time back about some sandwich bags that don't even have the little fold on top. Don't know what the brand was, but they said they were in a red box. Whoever mentioned them said they use them on all their big cookies. She even posted a picture and they looked very nice!! Good Luck!!
Lately, for large cookies I have been buying Wilton's Clear Cello Party Bags. They come in a package of 25 and measure about 4" x 9". I get them at Walmart for about $1.75.
Yep these are the same ones I use. I have done up to 4 1/2" round cookies in them with no problem. They have gussets on the side so they accept larger cookies just fine.
I have seen that www.uline.com has them also and fairly cheap but I havn't bought anything from them before.
Oh, and the sandwich bags that tie in the red box that heidisuesmom mentioned are by Hefty and they're called Baggies Sandwich and Storage Bags. Here's what they look like:
Hefty Baggies Storage & Sandwich Bags, 150 ct
Twist Tie Bags, 150 bags per box. Size: 6-3/4"x8" Hefty Baggies was the very first brand of food storage bags. Twist Tie Bags that keep your food fresh and are available in quart, gallon and 2 gallon bags.
That's them, thanks Michelle! I forgot about the bigger Wilton bags, I used those for cinnamon popcorn at Valentines Day. Didn't even think about using them for cookies. That's what happens when you have 3 kids...they steal your brain!!!!!! (I sure hope they give it back!) LOL
I get mine from http://www.papermart.com/templates/75-0-30.htm
as they are available in many sizes.
