I don't think my feet have hit the ground yet today, had my inspection this morning and passed with flying colours. I previously had a permit (used it 3 months!) with a commerical establishment but they had a fire last August that put them out of business plus myself. When I found out the Domestic Kitchen Rule passed for TN in January decided to go that direction instead of finding another commerical place, no place like home! Enjoyed my achievement today, tomorrow I'll be baking for the Saturdays Farmers Market, now the real work begins. I'M SO HAPPY icon_lol.gif

Haven't posted much here but have received tons of information from all of you in my readings, thank you. I think this is an incrediable site and the cake artistry is awesome, I hope some day to be as good.

Happy Baking to all. Catherine

Cakeatty:
You can go to the state website and then to the Dept. of Agiculture. They are helpful if you just want to call and talk to them.

I called and talked to them and they explained what their purpose was and come to found out, I don't need to be inspected since I don't setup anywhere. They really are helpful.

Just caught up with all of your replies, thank you so much. I checked the box where they are to notify when there is a reply posted and never received a message, was searching around today to get some ideas for some other items to take to the Farmers Market and ran across my posting, was thrilled with the everyones encouraging words, again thank you.

For those of you in TN, I'm Southeast of Murfreesboro in Woodbury. I sell at the M'boro Farmers Market and Woodbury's. Smyrna's market is July and August and is set up for those using WIC vouchers, I limit the amount of baked goods I take since they are not allowed using WIC vouchers, I like taking baked goods using some of the vegetables so some of the ladies that don't know how to cook can see what can be made from veggies (ex: tomatoe cake, bread, cake and cookies using summer squash and winter squash)

AmandaPanda, stop by the FM in M'boro and meet me. Thanks again, love this site, even though I don't post much yet, I've learned so much from all you you. Catherine

So can you do this through your home kitchen? I live about 15 minutes north of Nashville. Did you have to have an inspection? I just do this on the side and mostly for family and friends now, not really anything paid, but would love to do some more.

Congrats!! I'm in the Memphis area and that's good to know!

BTW, I baked this Green Tomato Cake this week and it is very good! Very moist and you'd never expect it to have Green Tomatoes in it. Thought it might be a good one for your venue!

Thank you so much for the recipe, printed it off, it sounds like it would be like a rubarb cake, the tart/sweet works off each other real well.

dogwalkin...contact the TDA in Nashville and find out when the next Food Safety Course will be held and get signed up ($100) then clean house LOL, 2 refrig, no pets or smoking are the main issues. You can also get a copy of the rule off the TDA website. There is a posting on here when I put phone numbers, look in my profile and you'll find it, don't know how to link it to you and I don't have the info right at hand at the moment.

AmandaPanda, yes, its Cannonsburg...you can't miss me, all baked goods right now and I have my banner on the trunk of my car 'Flying S Farms'
