I just got done walking around the block, alone, with a basket that resembles something Little Red Riding Hood would carry, delivering my flyers & magnets hoping to get some local business! Im sure anyone seeing me out there in my blue fuzzy hooded sweatshirt would of thought I was a nutball!! The things you do....

Oh goodness, I swear that when I go in the store, the drive thru at McDonalds, Walmart, wherever, people come up to me and say--

"Excuse me, are you the cake lady"?

LOL. Yah, skipping while singing like a Smurf, lala la la lala. La lala la! Oh I could just see the look on my husband face if I dressed up in a crazy get up. He would disown me for sure! Bad enough when I told him I was going around the block at 11:50pm he had this tone in his voice like "Ok, I think your going to get mugged, but ok!"

Reading your post made me think of something that really has nothing to do with cake other than some random cathairs some kid found in the frosting of a cupcake that some other kid brought in.
Anyway, the name of the crazy cat lady in my neighborhood is called....Mom. That's right, my mother. We live in Queens, NY and she lives on the 4th floor in an apartment building, but nevertheless, being at that height doesn't impede her from wrapping up her leftovers in a big tinfoil ball and then dropping "food bombs" out the window to the stray cats in her courtyard. The worst part is, I'm just like her.....hahaha
(Oh, and I was the kid who brought the cupcakes to school (30 years ago) and the little creepy kid with the cathair cupcake is named Pete, and he grew up to be a big creepy guy).
Thank you for letting me share my flashback. hahaha

Yah, it seems like the creepy kids never change. You always find something out later on that they were in trouble with the law for porn or something.
I had to pick my son up from work after my jont last night and was telling him that I was the CCLDTS. He told me that if he saw me skipping that he would disown me!

Well all my hard work didnt pay off. My mail lady went around this morning taking them all out of the mailboxes. The post office says that "I cant do that. Its a Federal Law". So I asked if they could not throw them away and call me and I would go get them. We shall see if they do. Things like this really get to me. I have a hard enough time getting business with no family and very little friends in this state. Now this. Really makes me wonder why I even bother.

Another good spot to leave flyers is to roll them up and stick them between the door knob and the door frame. When you let go they "unroll" a little and stay in place. If you print them in bright colors they will see the flash of color at their front door and go retrieve your flyer. Then if you get a call you could deliver an estimate with one of your magnets. Good luck to you...your cakes are beautiful so your talent will win the day!

unfortunately, putting flyers in mailboxes is against the law. I'd do it AFTER the mail delivery for the day. icon_razz.gif Not really... I'd find a different way to distribute them. plastic bags on doorknobs work well. icon_smile.gif
