Seriously, it is so hot here in Los Angeles that my chocolate is tempering itself! (If I move the bags, the chips and bars melt into one big glob!)
95 in Sandy Oregon...over 100 this weekend and so hot my outdoor tall candle sticks bentdown to the deck..and one fell out!
It's disgusting here!! I'm glad I don't have any cakes to do right now! Just a few days ago it was over 100 here but for the last few weeks it's been getting hotter from the low 80's to the upper 90's! Today was 94!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for a cool down but it just dawned on me a bit ago that I'll have to wait a bit for that because I'm about ready to go from the frying pan into the fire when I go to Vegas this Sunday! My niece is turning 21 and it's their annual trip to their time share and I wouldn't miss this trip for the world.
Where's a swimming pool when I need one!!!!!!!

Wow! I was just thinking of posting the very same topic ... it is so hot AND humid in the Central Valley, California. Humidity is something we normally do not have and baking & decorating is so different that just plain heat. It was 113 plus the humidity on Saturday and I was crazy enough to be out shopping, and at Home Depot to boot! Those poor employees have absolutely no air conditioning in the building. On the fun side, I found 24", 5/8" thick particle board circles for only $3 each!
It's so hot and humid in LA. over the weekend I made roses with stiff icing and they were melting as I was piping them on the nail.
We have had three straight days of temps in the 120's with high humidity. Today has been a cool 114 with high humidity, and is supposed to be hotter the next few days. Our nightly lows have been in the mid 90's, generally it will cool down to the 70's at night. Last night my grandkids went swimming and it is the first time I've seen them come out of the pool with their faces all red and sweaty! Now that is hot!
We finally cooled off some here. So, I'm not going to complain. We have had some severe storms the past few days. As of right now our temp is around 75. Loving it. I will keep all of ya'll in prayer.
Well you could send some up to me as I am hoping for some warmer weather here in Canada. It is just nice here not very hot and the nights are cool, haven't had to put on the air conditioner in over a week. Stay cool everyone....
Warm here too! It has been in the 90s and 80s and on the weekend of the 15th we hit 100---first time since forever I guess! We have wild fires in the Boundary waters in northern Minnesota. There was storms that leveled trees years ago and now they are kindling for the blaze. Darn Global warming!!
Setting records here in AZ this past week. ( near Phoenix) 118F was our lovely high on Friday, 116 Sat, 115 Sun and 114 today, Monday July 24th. GOOD GRIEF!!
I was in my car and the temp control by my rear view mirror said 121 as I was pulling out of a parking lot. My swimming pool water is 93 degrees!!
Now that is just wrong!!
This is the time of year I wonder why I live in the desert.

Nov thru Apr!
remember no snow to shovel and no steps to ice and you can go swimming in the 'winter'!
now if only i could remember that as i walk to my car at 7AM when it is literally 95 degrees!
I am loving these temps in the 90's!! After all the RAIN we had this past winter, you will hear NO complaints from me...HOT and NO HUMIDITY!!! Love it, love it, love it!
Scorching here in Northern, CA. 113 in Sonoma. Thank God we got the AC last year. I have a lot of new found "friends."
Actually saw my cakes nearly melting for the first time ever.
Hope everyone is staying cool.
Sarah
WOW, tempearture in the 120's??
That's the same as in Kuwait! My husband was telling me that when he wakes up, it is already close to 90 degrees and by the time he finishes his first meeting and heads out, it's already a hot 120+!!
His advice, drink LOTS of water. There were two ppl who passed out in their first few days there because they didn't drink enough.
So for everyone else, drink up while you're baking your cakes! =)
In San Diego, we're reaching the 90s which is like nothing compared to all of your temps but for san diego, that is FREAKN hot! Throw in the high humidity which is about as common as pigs flying, and you've got yourself the perfect weather to make "cake soup"...
We are still in the middle of a heat wave where it has been 100+ for 5 days (105-115) with humidex. Has cooled down to 95-100 with humidex and still no rain in site. I can't remember the last day we had rain. There was 2 or 3 days in a row where over 40 temp. records were broken. For us here on the "west" ("wet" as referred to by some) coast of Canada all this is very unusual
It's hot in Houston, but not as hot as it is in other places. Thank goodness we haven't seen temps in the 100's this year. I feel really bad for the people up north who don't have air conditioners or who are in the areas where there is no electricity.
Perhaps living if florida for a long time, then moving to houston years ago, i have become accustomed to the heat and humidity.
It's been in the high 80's and 90's for days now in North Dakota so I'm happy. No one else seems to be though. We really need rain, it hasn't done more than sprinkle in over a month. Last year we were mowing every other week at least and this year I haven't mowed in a month.
I have air so the house isn't too hot at night and I can bake and decorate with no problem.
This is way better than the snow storm we got in the first week of October that closed EVERYTHING for 3 days.
I live in the mountains of North Carolina. I thought the high 80's were bad, but after reading some of the temps... I am grateful! You guys be careful using those hot ovens in those temperatures! Water... water... water!
Here in Dallas, we're revelling in the cool spell that brought our temps down into the mid-90's again. Last week we were in the mid-100's. Not the hottest I've seen, but enough to cause a lot of difficulty with my cakes.

It's been hot here in Utah also. We finally cooled down from the 100s to the mid to upper 90s. My kids are going crazy because I won't let them play outside in that heat too long. The weather man said we might get some rain this week. I hope so.
ok i going to melt here it has been up to 110 here i am in the valley in the valley in calif in the bottom ofthe bowl so it is hot. Andwith edison raising the rates up it is getting bad to even run the air and they are going to raise them even more on Aug 1 first there are so many older ppl dying cauuse they can not afford to run the air in there house. mine went from 90 last month to 350 this month. and I am all gas except for the air and the frig, sorry it so long this isw what i think of edison ( bad word bad word and afjdlasfdjkaslkjafslkjfs
101...feels like 105 w/ heat index. It's been this way for most of July. BUT...now that detasseling is done it is supposed to cool down a little...go figure.
Part of the state is on fire up in the sandhills. Four homes destroyed so far.....MANY MANY acres burned.
It's HOTTER than H--- in New York City and it ain't over yet!!!! I don't want to wish for winter because I don't like walking on ice and slush, but I really am looking forward to fall.
It's cooled down here a bit. It's still too hot, but I can't complain too much...at least it's not 100 degrees.
Today is the first beautiful bright and cool day we've had in over a month. We are a cool 102 with low humidity. We spent all morning outside doing yard work and just enjoying the fresh air. We turned off the a/c and opened up all the windows and aired out the house. We are thankful for this little respite in the weather - I hope it last a few days.
Hot hear in Ontario Canada now ?
Cashley it was you that ordered it was it
with the humidity feels like 118 WOW we are not used to this and worse tomorrow they say . It is sooooooo humid everything is just wet ??? Only good thing is you don't have to water Thank goodness i have no cakes to make this week ?
Winter where are you ??????
95 here in Florida. So weird that it's seeming to get hotter the farther north you go.. ?? It's really humid here which is the worst part but the heat itself isn't too terribly bad.
