Hi! I just joined the forum yesterday and would like to say that this place is loaded with a wealth of great info and tips for beginners like myself. Why do I call myself TheKookieWench? I was in the mood for chocolate chip cookies one day and didn't feel like buying them from the bakery department at the grocery store so I decided to make them myself. So I made them but all I wanted was 2 and still had a bunch left over so I hauled them into work and handed them out to my co-workers. One thing led to another and next thing you know I have a "mini-business" going. My friends kept hounding me about how I had to have a name so I came up with KookieWench and it has stuck ever since.
I've become fascinated with wanting to decorate cakes. A cake decorating challenge that I saw on FoodNetwork inspired me. It's been a interesting adventure with me trying to make cakes from scratch. I've burned through tons of recipes trying to find the one that I'm satisfied with and praying that it turns out okay so I don't have to toss it to the birds, lol. My goal is to eventually sell my creations but I don't worry about that at the moment because I've got a looooooooooooooooong way to go and much more to learn.
