I am in need of some ideas for an "arabian nites" theme cake. My first thought was to try a transfer of a belly dancer on some rice paper that I just got, but any ideas would be great. The "arabian nites" pot luck dinner is in 2 weeks. Any thoughts? Ideas? Clue to where I can find a belly dancer to trace? Please keep in mind that I am extremely new to this, and still desperately trying to learn. Thanks everyone in advance!! icon_smile.gif

ok the first thing that comes to mind to me is making a cake cutout in the shape of a woman's bust to the top of the panties and decorate it like a belly and the outfits that belly dancers wear... but I know I know that is lame! icon_redface.gif

Hello-

I wish I could be of more help, but I'm thinking some kind of dragees (gold edible balls) on the sides or top of cake to serve as borders some kind of way. It could help represent the gold shingles and accents that are generally found on a belly dancer's costume.

If you're able to do a Frozen buttercream transfer, I would attempt it and find some sort of belly dancer silhouette on Google images to help with the pattern.

I wish you luck and I would love to see the finished result.

I was thinking about the Disney "Hunchback of Notre Dame" Esmeralda Cake Pan...she looks like a good pattern for a belly dancer.

Here is the link here on CC to the picture and instructions: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules/Pans/instructions/2105-3800Esmeralda.PDF
