I have been asked to make this cake and am not sure how to do the marbled effect. This is from Martha Stewart's site. It says she used plastic transfer sheets. If you look closely, the marbled effect is only on the sides of the cake. Does anyone know how they did this?

Looks like to color is kinds sponged on ...you can get the same look by dabbing black on the cake with plastic grocery bags...I painted my bathroom like that cool look!!!

They wrapped the transfer sheets around the finished cakes and then peeled away the plastic -- leaving behind the chocolate on the fondant.

That looks like marbled chocolate to me, applied on the sides of the cake using transfer sheets.

Beryl's sells these and here are 2 links that look similar to the marbling on your cake picture:

They come in 15"x12" sheets so you can just cut them to height of your cake sides.
