I have this idea in my head of royal icing white roses that have the tips of their petals brushed with gold...is this a doable idea, and if so, how do I do it? Is there something I could brush with a paint brush on to the edge of each petal...for a 50th wedding anniversary cake. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you have any gold luster dust? If so you can either dry paint or mix very little vodka in it to wet paint it on.
hey charman, when you finish the cake, post a picture. I'd love to see how it turns out!
You can find it at a cake suppy store, or order it online from countrykitchensa.com or sugarcraft.com or there are some other sites as well.
you can also paint it on with an oil-based extract or vanilla, or almond extract. I've heard that alcohol can melt the edges of the flowers.
yes, i agree with previous replies. i did a wedding cake with sameides but with silver. i then used pearl luster dust on flowers
will this work on air dryed white bc roses the dry brush gold?
Yes...it will work.

Instructions from Kathyf: one with regular icing roses, dried overnight, and dusted with fall luster dusts. YES! You can use these dusts on buttercream flowers!
