I am making a Dinosaur cake for my son this weekend. I have a couple Ideas that I can't decide between.

1. Cupcake cake made into shape of Dinosaur (not sure if this is possible) and then decorated like a dinosaur.

2. A Cake with a Rice Krispie Treat Dinosaur covered in Fondant on top. I think the Rice Krispie Treat Dinosaur would be easier to work with than making it out of cake. Also I am debating on covering the cake in fondant.

Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance for all advice and help.

Hi, I'd go for the second option. I did a fondant covered stegosaurus (it was cake). It's in my gallery. That was pretty easy.

I've also done a dinosaur cake, but opted for the volcano and then dinosaur cookies (in my photos). It was pretty easy, but then again, I don't work with fondant a lot and don't find it easy. icon_biggrin.gif

You can also take the wondermold and 2 mini balls and make a dino with that, the balls get iced together and form the head and the wondermold is the body.
A dino can be made from the 3d bear pan too if you have it.
