HI everyone,
My younger brother;s birthday party is this Sat and he asked me to make him a guitar cake. So i figured, " Easy, i can do that." But it turns out, im kinda at a loss for ideas. I cant seem to figure out how to "build it". You know, maybe assemble it out of dffrent shaped cakes? I even thought about just actually doing something in BC on topof the cake if push came to shove, but again, Im stumped. (maybe its the stress of actually planning his party thats got to me? who knows?) Any and all suggestions will be very welcomed and appreciated! I know by reading some of your posts that some of you are just oozing with ideas ( im jealous!). Hope to hear from you! Thanks in advnace!

You could look for patterns/templates online and use those as a guide to do a cut-out cake.

One like this could be put together with 2 rounds and a sheet cake...

Or you can use Ivy's Coloring Page search to find pics you could use to make a BCT...

For mine I used a two layer 11x15 and a 9x13 for the neck of the guitar. I just drew a pattern on freezer paper and then cut the cake in the shape. It was one of my first cakes, so it's not real "quality" LOL, but you can get the idea of how to get the shape.

Kristy, I love you guitar cake! The Wilton pan is nice, but yours is very unique, and it looks so very feminine, not sure you can get that with the pan. Janice
