Okay, I've seen a lot of stuff on fondant molds, rollers, impression mats, etc. I'm wondering what you all use most, what are the most popular molds maybe, and have you used impression rollers? Do they work okay? As far as impression mats, I know that diamond pattern is very popular - any others that you get requests for often?
Also - I've seen where people use rubber stamps (are these food safe?) and impression mats and then "paint" them. Are they painting the impression mat first before they put it on the cake? What are the painting it with?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have a lot of Fondant tools since I only do Fondant..
One thing I cannot live without, are my Lace Molds w/c I bought from
Elegant Lace Molds (Medallions, Lace, Doillies, Flowers; Nativity & Three Kings); I have textured rolling pins, both floral, heart, dots; then I have my Silicone Molds (Butterfly; Gems; Baby Shoes; Fairies) which I bought from First Impressions Molds; then I have my Tappit cutters; then I have my impression mats.. I would not trade any of my Fondant tools with anything else because I love them so much. I like what they can do for me, and I am very happy to own them. If you love to FOndant, I would recommend that you buy molds. They are very easy and quick and looks very, very nice on cakes. If you look at my cakes, that's all I use. ![]()
Have a nice week-end...
