Once upon a time, I heard of a technique used with boiled sugar that ends up looking like coral or pumice stone once cooled. Does anybody know HOW to do this??

Maybe put this in the sugar forum and get a quicker answer?

Hi,
I have a book by Kerry Vincent..it's Romantic Wedding Cakes, but there is a page that has a cake with Corals , fishes etc. with it.

I can look at it tonight at home and tell you tomorrow.
But personally, I have not made Corals or shells or anything like that. icon_smile.gif

Prettycake, you are right!

There is a method for making pumice like rock sugar in Kerri Vincent's book. I have it too.

All the best with the pirate cake. It will be fun, I did one last month and enjoyed every moment of it.
